Sometimes finding what you need on the web means a ticket home or getting to that vacation in france. Thousands of travelers found themselves canceling plans or stranded when a volcano under Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull (ay-yah-FYAH’-plah-yer-kuh-duhl) glacier erupted. The Whereables mashup featured on ProgrammableWeb.com could have potentially helped thousands stranded in Europe this past April.
This Google Maps mashup helps users determine what airlines fly from specific airports. Using a minimalist approach - the map is the central focus of the site. Other functions are accessible from a strip that runs down the left side of the page.
